In 2007 then candidate @BarackObama pointed out moves like these are pointless stunts that cut needed transit safety dollars and don’t help budgets. With CO road deaths spiking this is bad taste and bad policy. Table it @AlecGarnett and @GovofCO. #coleg npr.org/templates/story/stor…

I don’t want the $11 I want better public transit. $2.2 million could help accomplish that.
We are looking forward to reducing car registration fees and saving people money. I am proud that the driver license fee relief program will save Coloradans $2.2 million this year.

One more lane will fix it though, right @GovofCO? Seems like abandoning yet another billion dollar boondoggle would be a great way to “save Coloradans money”
Colorado needs to prioritize other transportation options to get to ski and recreation areas because cars are not scalable ->

As a class, developers aren't favored or prioritized in California. Just look at how little housing we build. Our problem is we've set up a system where developers are favored on an *individual, ad hoc basis* -- and where that favor is often needed to build just about anything.

I’m really unconvinced that shoveling money at right-wing billionaire @elonmusk is going to stop climate change. With @GovofCO and @TheDemocrats subsidy of 10k per luxury car two things have gone up. Emissions per person on transportation and Elon’s net worth. Climate not cars.
Why is he afraid of rain?

It says a loythat @GovofCO opened up the spigot for the wealthy while snubbing more diverse- in race and class- transit riders on @RideRTD. #coleg can fix this and move the classist EV subsidy to a fund based on emission reduction, not gratifying car lobbyists.

RTs, plz: The last 2 years have thrown fuel on the fire, significantly worsening the housing shortage. I'm looking for stories about the real-life effects in Colorado. Have you left the metro/state? Downsized, or accepted a super-commute? DM or email: akenney@cpr.org

unless you're ute, arapaho or cheyenne, your family showed up in colorado sometime since 1859. coloradans love to whine about "transplants," which just means "anyone who moved here even a day after i did."
Something I think is odd (and not unique to Colorado, but I’ve noticed it more here than in other places,) is this idea that you’re “native,” to a place and therefore have ownership of it? Unless you’re indigenous, you’re not native, and your ancestors were colonizers.

Hello #coleg
Massachusetts is really doing this. Boston suburbs must zone for multifamily housing this year or forfeit state grants. slate.com/business/2022/01/m…

I’ve heard from hundreds of mobile home residents who are facing high costs and displacement. Mobile home parks are the largest source of unsubsidized affordable housing in our state, and residents deserve fairness and accountability from park ownership. cpr.org/2022/01/21/colorado-…

Renters in Colorado's mobile home parks deserve better. In the days ahead, we'll be sharing more about who purchases mobile home parks, how they operate them, and how these practices impact our neighbors. We hope you'll follow along. @TogetherCO @9to5Colorado @rep_boesenecker

The problem? Unlike a rented house or apartment, you can't just leave. If you're living in a MHP your home (that you paid tens of thousands of dollars for!!) is sitting on the land and removing it is enormously expensive and often destroys the unit.

If you're living in a mobile home park in Colorado, you're uniquely vulnerable to the park's ownership. You own the home, but they own the land. When rent goes up or park rules change, you either get with the program or get kicked out.
