This tweet by @rcm____ remains one of my favorite formulations of why— despite not being a utopian or an idealist— I still believe strongly that what we're building will make for a better world.
Any society will organize itself into power structures. The Great Hope for me is those power structures are fundamentally more distributed, lower barrier to entry, more localized/focused, and easy to move between when one inevitably becomes corrupt and needs to crumble

Absolutely love the framing of these as numismatic tokens.
Current ranking of numismatic coins by "realized rarity value" 1. $PEOPLE 2. $TheDAO 3. $LEND 4. $YAM (v2) Data: docs.google.com/spreadsheets… Let's break down what this means

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but: you’re going to get covid someday, probably more than once, and when you do you’ll probably be fine. It sucks, but it’s reality, and it’s well past time to accept it.

I booked flights to an IRL conference and didn’t buy the trip insurance, and literally overnight everyone starts panicking about a new variant. Sorry, this one is on me.

Don’t bet against weird things on the internet.
I think people who doubt the viability of crypto collectibles don’t realize how deeply weird a place the internet is. Here is a twitter account with nothing but vids of someone cutting bars of soap. It has 175K followers. But yeah, digital cats are too bizarre to ever catch on.

Elizabeth Warren is, of course, more than smart enough to know this tweet is wrong and ridiculous. Yet she tweets it anyway. Just in case you had any illusions that politicians were interested in actually solving problems...
Wondering why your Thanksgiving groceries cost more this year? It’s because greedy corporations are charging Americans extra just to keep their stock prices high. This is outrageous. businessinsider.com/big-comp…

Take the crypto pill. Our legacy institutions are broken beyond repair. We need to build new ones, and fast.

Lots of efforts cropping up to get pro-crypto people elected. Good! Here’s my unsolicited advice: let’s focus on winning primaries (in both parties) for seats where the general election is not expected to be contested. Short circuits the tendency to devolve to red team/blue team
Now that the core @ConstitutionDAO team is stepping aside, let's pivot the project, roll the funds, and win the policy battles ahead. It's not 1787 in crypto. It's 1776. This money is better spent working on igniting crypto's grassroots political base. cc: @DeclarationDAO

Easiest wins here are probably in the GOP, but more impactful would be getting pro-crypto Democrats elected since, let’s be honest, it’s the left that’s increasingly the more hostile to crypto.

If you're even remotely interested in the dev side of crypto, you should be following @msolomon44. A wealth of web3 knowledge, and I don't *only* say that because we're teammates 😅

14/N This is why I refuse to call myself an Etherean. As much as I love this community, making it core to my identity would cloud my judgement. I want to be as clear eyed as possible. Because the biggest threat isn’t Ethereum failing, it’s that we fail to achieve “the mission”

15/N I’m now convinced that web3 as a concept is destined to win. The only question is whether it remains decentralized— OR ends up disrupting, but then recentralizing along some other axes. The latter is what happened to web2. I was there. We can’t repeat that mistake!!

16/16 So let’s keep our eyes on the prize: a rich digital future, one that enables human collaboration and creativity at massive scales, without relying on powerful central intermediaries to enable them. I’m fighting for that. I’m building for that. Lots left to do— onward!
