I'm excited to share a project that I've been working on: a brand-new version of @Mozilla's SSL Configuration Generator: ssl-config.mozilla.org/ Configuring TLS is perhaps the most complicated and error-prone of all IT tasks, and this tries to make it as easy as possible.

People ask me if I’m from somewhere vaguely around Ireland quite frequently, because of my heavy Minnesotan accident.

Now we just need to fix the other couple dozen antiquated laws we have about liquor and drugs. πŸ˜…

@1Password Are you considering increasing the number of PBKDF2 rounds that you do for key derivation? 100,000 is starting to seem a bit dated in 2022. Thanks!

I really don't see the problem, presumably sorted by popularity as well. And having to click a provider is still way faster than typing in your credit card information.

If you've got two hours to spend and want a great explanation of NFTs, I highly recommend this brilliant @FoldableHuman video: piped.kavin.rocks/watch?v=YQ_xWvX1… The fact that a two-hour-long video can get 1M+ views on YouTube is pretty astounding. It's incredibly well-researched.

Sorry, I had prefixed my discussion with β€œif DRM didn’t exist,” but I guess you must have missed it.

Unless you’re arguing that CSS and the like aren’t DRM, which is, quick frankly, bizarre.

Are you arguing that in the presence of music and games making zillions of dollars on DRM-free sales that they would have sat and done nothing because people could possibly do what they are already able to do?
1
They certainly use and require DRM because they can, but if the technology didn’t exist then I would be shocked if they stuck with what… DRM-free DVDs and Blu-Rays? DRM-free VHS tapes?

Any chance you’d be interested in going into HR management software? More seriously, I’d love for somebody to compete against Okta in a serious way, and it seems right up Cloudflare’s alley.

If DRM didn’t exist, those companies and products would still exist and they’d still be streaming. It’s hundreds of billions of dollars, and pirated copies exist already without putting a dent into their current market.
