But it doesn’t have to be like this. Change can happen. We can live in a different world. Even if only for a moment we all saw that. Thank you for that, 2020. That is an amazing precious gift. /8

2/2 The vaccine cavalry is on way, offering real hope for 2021 - but with this new variant, the next few weeks may be the most dangerous we’ve faced since Mar/April. We must act together to suppress it, to save lives and protect the NHS. πŸ™ stick with it.

Some great stuff here that I didn't know about. Lovely, thanks, keep 'em coming if you've got 'em. Initial offerings of my own (not already on the list): Of Mice and Men Fences Inherit the Wind Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? A Streetcar Name Desire Judgement at Nuremberg
What are the best screen versions of the greatest and most essential theatre plays of all time? Either live recordings or adaptations. No poe-faced earnestness with dodgy production values, but gripping renditions of timeless, sublime writing?

The Queen's Gambit has been viewed by 62 million people. The producer, Allan Scott, is on BBC News talking about how it took 30 years, with 9 rewrites, and every studio he showed it to said that no one would be interested in chess. PLEASE PERSEVERE WITH THAT THING YOU'RE MAKING

Scotland's links to Europe go back for centuries tho. Eleanora of Scotland (daughter of Joan Beaufort and James I) became Regent of Austria in the late 1450s. She translated many books about European history and altered them to include powerful WOMEN. /6

THREAD: Scottish women who had impact in Europe. Born illegitimate in Oban, Victorian Rose Blaze de Bury moved to Paris, where she hosted a salon, wrote several novels, drafted an economic plan for Austria & helped set up a bank. She corresponded with Bismark. Jawdropping no? /1

Rear-mounted dog propellers work by rotating at a high RPM to accelerate air and create a low-pressure differential in front of the tail. Since air naturally moves from high to low-pressure, as your dog's tail spins, he converts rotational power into linear thrust.
