@EdwardWasserman pans Janny Scott's @nytimes non-"scoop" on Neil Sheehan, the Pentagon Papers and me: "Now It Can Be Told" (Wrong): motherjones.com/media/2021/0…
I join all defenders of freedom of the press in demanding that the Biden administration drop the unconstitutional indictment of Julian Assange and accept--not appeal--the decision of the British judge not to extradite him.

Whatever Assange is guilty of, I'm guilty of- and will be again. Biden must drop the attempt to extradite Assange and should cancel the standing indictment against him, which erases First Amendment freedom of the press. exberliner.com/features/juli…
Last week of danger of Trump war with Iran. Get this to insiders with access to documents on provoking war: Don't resign- leak, warn Congress with documents before bombs start falling. Do what I wish I had done, 5 years earlier, with the Pentagon Papers! n2k.world/ellsberg
Neil Sheehan, me, and the @nytimes- how I told it 18 years ago in my memoir Secrets. Neil misread me (and misled me) badly in 1971. But it didn't make any difference in the end, and it all turned out very well, thanks to the courage of Neil and the Times: ellsberg.net/neil-sheehan/
My son @RobertEllsberg has it right. He knows the story intimately, having lived through it. These are among the facts I would have told Janny Scott at the @nytimes had she asked me for comments before publishing her article.
“Now It Can Be Told” runs the headline on a breathless @nytimes story of how Neal Sheehan got the Pentagon Papers from my father @DanielEllsberg. Sheehan wanted to counter the usual (accurate) narrative that my father gave the papers to the Times. . . nytimes.com/2021/01/07/us/pe…
INSIDERS, DO NOT RESIGN! LEAK, EXPOSE, TESTIFY, TELL THE TRUTH FROM INSIDE--WITH DOCUMENTS, WHILE YOU STILL HAVE ACCESS TO THEM! theguardian.com/commentisfre…
People should vote for Biden--who is not a progressive--without illusions, with eyes open to his severe shortcomings. But not to vote for Biden is to close your eyes to the disastrous consequences for climate and democracy of 4 more years of Trump. commondreams.org/views/2020/…
The way forward for progressives is what @BernieSanders, @AOC and the Squad, and @RoKhanna started: taking over the Democratic party from within. Join them, and us, in voting out Trump by voting for Biden--then continue fighting for the bold challengers. salon.com/2020/11/02/dear-fe…
President Trump's criminal liability for a great majority of American pandemic deaths is not 1st degree murder, but is far more serious, legally, than manslaughter. His crime amounts to "depraved heart murder," a form of 2nd degree murder. 1/
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deprav…
2/ Trump's intentional deceptions risked and are resulting in massive depraved-heart murder. According to a report by Columbia University medical researchers, his policies have caused 130,000-210,000 avoidable American deaths so far.

There is a desperate need for official truth-telling whistleblowers on the ongoing pandemic. Trump's lying last night about his non-joke on injecting bleach was emblematic of his continuing maniacal and dangerous misinformation. 1/
vox.com/2020/4/24/21234730/t…
2/ It is urgent for Dr. Fauci and @CDCDirector--not to resign--but to call Trump out officially, with documents, on his lies and delusions last night, to purge themselves of complicity in his continued mass manslaughter.

Biden's record is not at all progressive. So how can I ask progressives to vote for Biden and urge others to do so? Three words: Trump. Climate. Democracy. 1/
risingupwithsonali.com/2020/…
2/ As much as progressives deplore (as I do) Biden’s record: if you’re not urging others to vote for him, you’re not doing all you could to remove a climate-denier and would-be dictator from the White House.
3/ Especially in swing states, by encouraging others to vote for someone else or not to vote at all, you're risking that Trump stays, and the Paris climate goals stay decisively out of reach.
