I wrote this letter recently to my friends in the antiwar and anti-nuclear movements. I see it’s being circulated, so I’ve decided to share it here. For all of you working on these issues, thank you, and please keep going!

I’ll pray for your comfort. Lost my mother to a rare form of Pancreatic cancer December 18th after a grueling 6 year fight. Godspeed sir.

The outpouring of respect & gratitude in these posts is heart warming & a testament to your accomplishments. Thank you for speaking truth to power. If ever we needed a reminder of our mortality, it is now. Life is short & we should all do our part to make the best of it in peace.

Sad news Dan but cheerful too that u still feel fighting fit. I hope your time left is longer than expected & u see at least 1 victory from your great work. Nuclear disarmament, press freedom, justice for Assange, hope for the First Amendment. These r your goals & I hope u score.
