Once, a woman bought me lunch, and *to my incredible surprise*, I was not emasculated. *pats self around the crotchal region* Yep, can confirm, balls are still fully intact. I am still A MAN. A man who got a free lunch, once. Lunch was a very tasty vegan wrap.

If it makes you feel any better, the large stack of Sun workstations I have (and ancient boxed DOS Sierra/Infocom games) are worth little to me - but to /someone/, I'm sure, they're worth a shitload. Also, my giant shelves full of X360 games.

These boxes have been sitting in my apartment for well over a decade. I don't know exactly what's in them. I just know that they /most likely/ contain the bulk of my mid-1990s existence, which is larely computer games. One box is sligtly crushed, but the rest are okay.

I'm getting pressured to make out my will. My parents are probably gonna get the bulk of my money. My siblings, a smaller slice of that pie. My best friend on Steam, who is heavily into retro games - You get THE MYSTERY BOXES! *Even I* don't know what's inside!

My new heat pump is making weird pressurized-fluid noises. <HP> hnnnNNGHH-FWWPUUHH-PSSSsshh <me> What the fuck are you doin'? It's far too cold to exchange coolant with the outside unit. Its internal heater must necessarily be on to keep my apartment warm. And it /does/, but...

I'm in an apartment, and so this heat pump is where my old, 30+ year old AC compressor used to be; two floors down and outside. The AC used to do the same thing, back in the day - it'd gurgle and hiss when it turned off in extreme heat. But the HP is supposed to be /smart/.

Like, it should Just Know(tm) that it's 18 degrees outside, and there's no way it can circulate coolant to the outside unit to warm my apartment, it should just use the electric heating elements in the HVAC blower in my wall. I'm impressed that it's /trying/. But it shouldn't.

I absolutely imagine this to be true. Y'know what, my DMs are open, and always have been. If people have a *problem* with me, I'm right here. (This is not an invitation, because I'm terrified of conflict.) But on maybe two occasions, someone DM'd me, got me to correct my bullshit

I'm imagining the giant world-map desk mat you have, with a green laser-line slowly scrolling across it, indicating the ideal time to send tweets intended for foreign audiences.

Dogs can indeed mourn cats. Our cat and dog were "frenemies", at best. They got along, sometimes they'd play, but Cat usually wanted nothing to do with Dog Cat *tolerated* Dog. On /rare/ occasion during a storm, they'd set aside their differences and hide in the bathtub together.

One day, Cat died. We buried her in the back yard. Dog didn't quite understand why her best friend wasn't around anymore, and kept rummaging all over the house looking for her. We bought a little stone kitty statue, to mark the grave. Dog always did a double-take when she saw it.

Every single time she walked past the little cat statue: "FRIEND?! *sniff-sniff-sniff-sniff*.. Ohhh. :("

Why /would/ tar warn about this?

Those sound familiar, but I did not know they had screen-capture functionality.
Why can't I take a screenshot of Netflix in Windows, using any /number/ of screenshot utilities? All of them gives me a black square. I just want to take a screenshot of Captain Sisko looking at me (the camera) very skeptically; why is this so hard.

I like Deep Space 9. It /used/ to be on the television a lot, over a period of several years. I don't like a lot of those episodes. But they are what they are. And now it's on Netflix.
