This post explains ADHD way better than I’ve ever seen it explained before.

This is spot on and relatable, but for many of us it's not the full picture. It's understood now that there is also a high comorbity between ADHD/ADD, ASD, and OCD. There is evidence that atypical interconnectivity of the brain's hemispheres plays a role in all 3.

this is interesting stuff! i'm already diagnosed with asperger's but I still relate to these adhd posts a bit too much for my comfort - I've been thinking about getting it checked out, but I've always doubted whether it was just my autism or not

I have ADHD and Asperger's and I kind of loose track during self reflection of what's causing what

Yes, This is why they were mutual exclusive diagnoses prior to DSM-V. But now it's understood that they are separate conditions that can occur together, and frequently do.

If I recall something like 80% of people with asd also have adhd, although it might just be symptom overlap and I’ve read it wrong

autistic people are very likely to have ADHD comorbidity, but people with ADHD don't often have autism. fun fact 💁‍♀️

I found out that there’s heavy overlap between the two… after decades of being sure I must not *really* have either because I kept thinking I had both. 🤦🏼‍♂️

That’s me thinking I have autism because I relate to posts about it. I’m mentally diagnosed with ADHD, BiPolar 2, Anxiety and Depression but struggle with hormone imbalances, etc. I worry people would think I’m a hypochondriac if I told them everything I deal with on the regular.
