Engro Foundation operates 15 schools in the challenging Katcha belt of Ghotki district, where inaccessibility, a lack of literate teachers and poor law and order make accessing education difficult.
Despite these challenges, the program provides hope to over 2066 students through 13 primary schools, one elementary school, and one high school delivering quality education to the region.
Tech Karo is a flagship program of Engro Vopak, Engro Foundation, & WeConnect in partnership with Circle Women. The program provides tech skills training to underserved communities with a special focus on young women.
The skills range in web development, graphic designing, and digital marketing. It also offers mentorship sessions for soft skill development. Since 2018, TechKaro has graduated over 550 students, with 65% being female, and has successfully placed over 200 individuals in jobs.
Engro Fertilizers Daharki, in collaboration with Sindh Rangers and Pakistan Army, organized a medical camp to provide aid to flood victims. The camp was successful in providing medical treatment to more than 30,000 patients in need.
Engro's Permanent Limb Facility in Daharki has helped over 300 patients by offering free treatment and prosthetics, enabling them to walk towards a brighter tomorrow.
Engro partnered with Al-Shifa Eye Trust Hospital to organize an Eye Camp Week screening 6000+ individuals in Islamabad. The camps provided free-of-cost eye screening & tests, medicines and eyeglasses whilst giving referrals for eye surgeries at the hospital premises.
Engro Vopak Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal partnered with Afzaal Memorial Thalassemia Foundation (AMTF) to set up a modern Thalassemia Center at Shikarpur.
Since the completion of the project in September last year, the Thalassemia Center has been able to register and treat 230 Thalassemia children, offering them access to high-quality medical care.
Sahara Clinic, in collaboration with Engro Volunteer Program, successfully conducted a 5-day hearing aid camp in Daharki, providing free consultation, audiometry testing, medication, and digital hearing aids to 566 individuals.
As a result of the camp, 126 deserving members received much-needed hearing aid devices, improving their quality of life and empowering them to become more involved in their communities.
