Without the noisy, annoying and lawful protests that I attended #Crossrail would not be entirely step free. I am the law abiding majority. It's your laws that will make me a criminal.
Last night Labour blocked the Government from introducing new measures to stop Insulate Britain & XR bringing our country to a standstill. Once again Labour’s actions are proving they are not on the side of the law-abiding majority - instead choosing to defend vandals and thugs.

Many Disabled people want equal access to green, active travel choices. Our Director's thoughts as she set off for work this morning 🥶. 👇
As a Disabled person who can only walk a few steps & therefore used to drive everywhere, I feel so lucky to have the option to handcycle! Thick frost this morning. Would have had to sit with car idling for ages to defrost windscreen, then sit in traffic, all for short commute 1/2

There is seriously no better way to get fit than building active travel into your daily routine. Walking, cycling or running your way to fitness.
We need the design and management of our streets rethought to make walking and cycling the default and easy choice for short local trips. We can design for healthier outcomes, no matter what someone's weight is.

👀 "when you start to build a network, and not just individual schemes, you see increased levels of cycling across the whole network"
The number of cyclists has surpassed that of motorists on several UK A-roads, according to Department for Transport data. cityam.com/cyclists-overtake…

There are just a few spaces left for our men only weight loss sessions. We’re working with Everyone Active to help residents lead a healthier lifestyle and to lose weight. The men’s sessions start on Jan 18. Find out if it’s for you. #LiveHealthierHavering orlo.uk/gu11D

We fully agree with @CllrDamianwhite here. On the data reported, that's an average fine of £57 and 35,238 fines a year (97 a day). Given the many thousands of people who drive in a through the borough each day, this is an incredibly tiny proportion.
Council leader Cllr Damian White said the cameras protect the public and only punish those who “abuse the laws and rules of the road”. dlvr.it/SH917x

This is absolutely fantastic news. Well done @CllrDamianwhite, @OsmanDervish and @LBofHavering's staff.
A proposal to make three school streets schemes covering four Havering schools permanent has been given a green light. dlvr.it/SH3bjL

The works closure to motor traffic which sparked this thread seems to have gone now. The need to deal with the awful Carlton Road rat run remains.
There you go @LBofHavering, @CllrDamianwhite and @OsmanDervish this is how simple it would be to remove the awful rat run on Carlton Road - a single modal filter. 1/n

More to the point it’s not right that the routes aren’t available for Londoners wanting to get around by bike for work, study, shopping or just to see their friends. It does massively expose the gaps in the network and filling those gaps will be tough with TfL’s grim budget.

It's really not right that a Member of the London Assembly should have to sort through various inadequate options to get to her work for her constituents using the healthiest and most sustainable form of transport. @willnorman @SebDance @CarolineRussell
Cycling Twitter, any suggestions for a safe route from Highbury to the new City Hall in Kamal Chunchie Way? Do I head east through Hackney or head for the river and then turn east? It looks like there’s loads of hostile main roads - hoping for a safe route via wisdom of crowds!
