Tell us you are ignorant of American history without saying you are ignorant of American history.
REPORTER: [People say] you’re making it so that they’re not going to be able to vote in the next election. MANCHIN: …the government will stand behind them to make sure they have a right to vote…We act like we’re going to obstruct people from voting. That’s not going to happen.

I know these states have small economies, but it seems extreme that the Governor of South Dakota has to moonlight as Lt. Gov. for Idaho! Idaho lieutenant governor bans vaccine mandates, tries to deploy National Guard during governor's 2-day trip news.yahoo.com/idaho-lieuten…

I want the same outcome as @SenSanders does, but there are 100 senators, not 50. 48 is not a majority. Nor is 210 in The House. A better argument is that the 52 senators opposed represent less than 40% of Americans. #MATHS #HowDemocracyWorks
2 senators cannot be allowed to defeat what 48 senators and 210 House members want.  We must stand with the working families of our country. We must combat climate change. We must delay passing the Infrastructure Bill until we pass a strong Reconciliation Bill.

Doomscrolling level unlocked!
Trump, in a lengthy statement, decries the removal of Richmond's Robert E. Lee statue, calling it "magnificent." "If only we had Robert E. Lee to command our troops in Afghanistan... What an embarrassment we are suffering because we don’t have the genius of a Robert E. Lee!"

Police unions act to protect police jobs and working conditions. Sometimes they take extreme and wrongheaded positions in service of that. But there is a rationale. Fighting mandatory vaccinations lacks rationale and suggests a blind ideological lurch that is deeply concerning.

I just voted NO on this scam #recall. There’s no corruption, no malfeasance, no scandal. CA is doing well. @GavinNewsom is competent and engaged. The recall is just another display of Republican power-grabbing and disdain for democratic institutions (like regular elections).
