This was one of my favorite songs as a teenager. Please go and listen to this entire album if you haven’t already. I consider it a masterpiece. Rest easy, Gift of Gab. Music lives on. open.spotify.com/track/6YSI1…
This was all part of the plan. Also complicated by the fact that we released Time Travellers II at midnight that New Year’s Eve, so technically no one heard the album until the following year (which was only a minute after the release date). 😉 ✨
At this point, I have enough new material to release a few albums. Might even release a surprise album overnight, like the old days. I feel like the more I know about music, the more daunting it becomes. This year’s been rough. Been quiet for a while. But my headphones are loud.
In his Loop Dreams column highlighting the best producers of the moment, @TheeMaxB sits down with Kenny Segal, the beatmaker behind billy woods, Serengeti, R.A.P. Ferreira, and his own excellent solo work. passionweiss.com/2020/11/13/…@KennySegal
Congrats to my friends & neighbors who just received nominations @BMAs_Boston — but, once again, I have to say this: Boston has an overlooked beatmaker culture. @Vanyaland617 knows it, yet we get lumped into "dance/electronic" BMAs with synthpop artists. vanyaland.com/2019/12/05/nig…
Thankfully, a light has been shined on the culture by good people like @Rah__Zen and @NightworksShow, as well as beat battles like @beatclubpodcast / @TheStewShowcase - there's legitimately a scene here. And the beat goes on... I wish they would hear it.
