Sometimes #museum specimens need a little extra TLC - like our #meteorite collection at the @SternbergMuseum. Because of their high iron content they can rust when exposed to oxygen, so each one gets its own microhabitat to reduce contact with air and water. #MuseumMonday
.@FlorissantNPS is known for its exceptionally preserved plant and animal fossils. This fossil shows not just leaves but also the stem and buds of a plant that lived ~34.1 million years ago in Colorado, which helps us understand the 3-dimensional shape of the plant.
