As of yesterday Pima County had 11 open ICU beds. That’s it. That’s one bad accident away from full. Please don’t just take care to protect yourselves from COVID19. Drive safely, and take care in your day. 🌺🌼💜

Bad news heading into #Thanksgiving - Cochise County in Southern #Arizona just put out a release saying the situation in their hospitals is "grim" - Wait times for non-COVID patients to be transferred to larger hospitals in #Tucson are averaging 48-96 hours

7/If it’s serious but NOT life threatening and can’t wait until tomorrow and/or your PCP is closed or it is more than they can handle…there’s the Urgent Care! Lower copay than the ER, less wait time, they can handle serious issues like broken bones, injuries and stitches…

8/Most urgent cares have evening+weekend hours, lab/X-ray on site. They can handle things like dehydration and IV fluids can be given, they can manage breathing problems like asthma flares, illnesses that can’t wait until the next day, sore throats, flu, colds, urine infections..

9/BEFORE you head to the ER stop & think if it’s the best place to go for medical care today. -Or, should you call your PCP FIRST to try to get an appointment? -Or, are you too sick and need the Urgent Care? -You can always call your PCP for help deciding where to seek care too!

We still aren’t out of the first wave. This is just this 5th surge of that same first wave. Not only are we not out of the woods yet, this is going to get worse plus the flu is back. Hold on tight, folks, this is gonna be a long winter.
