"One time the old man decided to celebrate a great harvest by inviting all his serfs to a banquet of meat dumplings and Kotlety (meat patties). But he had forgotten that it was the Lenten fast, and nobody came. He had to eat them all himself."--#TolstoysTalesofTrump

With all respect, the Gospel text does not seem to be about Jesus’ judgment on a world grown cozy with sin, but about the hypocrisy of religious leaders/teachers (some of whom thought Jesus’ message of mercy was too cozy with “sin.”)

As usual, the FAKE NEWS gets it wrong. The question actually came up in relation to Sharknados.

“Although he had inherited his father’s estate and overseen many ruined business ventures, the old man still had a fantastic dream: to build a golden tower in Moscow with his name on it. For that he would need the Tsar’s approval.”—#TolstoysTalesofTrump

Sorry, but the most frequently asked question among fellow World Leaders (when you were out of the room) was: “So, do you think Elizabeth and Mayor Pete have a chance?”

One time the old man visited a local monastery, where the abbot warned him that his soul was in danger if he did not give to the poor and treat his serfs fairly. “What an honor to be rebuked by such a holy man!” He often repeated the story to his guests.—#TolstoysTalesofTrump

“The old man liked it known that he was on a first name basis with Konstantin, Sergey, and many other luminaries of the St Petersburg stage. “You know, I myself used to go in for a bit of acting in my youth,” he would remind his servants.”—From #TolstoysTalesofTrump

“After a jolly breakfast with his neighbors the old man felt better. They slapped his back, and he said he had second thoughts about cutting down the forest. But then he heard one of their servants whispering that his master knew how to handle a fool...”—Tolstoy’s Tales of Trump
France and President @EmmanuelMacron have done a really great job thus far with a very important G-7. Lunch with Emmanuel was the best meeting we have yet had. Likewise, evening meeting with World Leaders went very well. Progress being made!

“When he thought of all the people who loved him—the Jews, Christians, his serfs—he was happy. But when he learned his former coachman had called him a rogue who cheated at whist, he flew into a rage and screamed at his servants.”—Tolstoy’s Tales of Trump
Anthony Scaramucci is a highly unstable “nut job” who was with other candidates in the primary who got shellacked, & then unfortunately wheedled his way into my campaign. I barely knew him until his 11 days of gross incompetence-made a fool of himself, bad on TV. Abused staff,...

Not that full text, but plenty more. Dom Helder was a mystic and prophet, a modern St Francis, who heard the cry of the poor and the cry of the earth.

“Occasionally the old man had to travel abroad to meet with business partners, but he didn’t trust them: “All rogues and cheaters.”Sometimes during meetings he would fall into a reverie, thinking of past triumphs. He would pretend he couldn’t hear them.”—Tolstoy’s Tales of Trump

Many good essays online. Best guide to her religious thought is “Waiting for God.” And @OrbisBooks “Simone Weil: Essential Writings.”

A series of deep religious experiences brought her spiritual inclinations to the fore. Ultimately she felt that “Christ himself came down and took possession of me.” She remained at the threshold of the Church, but without crossing.

Nothing Christian “was alien” to her, yet she believed she was called to remain at the intersection of Christianity and all that stands outside. After escaping Occupied France she struggled to return, but succumbed to TB and died at 34.
