He thought the question was whether he had a message for Poland on turning 80. Any fool could make that mistake.

“If we don’t have common dreams we don’t have anything.” A powerful rebuke to the “me first” attitude of Brexit and Trump’s “populism.”

Peter Gomes: John discovered that “life had no purpose and no focus apart from the purpose and focus of God. He became in his short life the complete and total man for others, and those who knew him and loved him testify to the love of Christ that shone in and through him”

My friend John Leary died suddenly while making his daily jog from the Pax Christi center in Cambridge where he worked to Haley House, the CW homeless shelter where he lived. He used to recite the Jesus Prayer as he jogged and was likely praying when his heart stopped. He was 24.

We are tracking closely tropical storm Dorian as it heads, as usual, to Puerto Rico. FEMA and all others are ready, and will do a great job. When they do, let them know it, and give them a big Thank You - Not like last time. That includes from the incompetent Mayor of San Juan!
