For those who prefer their Tolstoy in 260-character servings. 👍
The master was disgusted to learn that ditties and limericks about him—never good ones—were trending in the local taverns and schoolyards. Mischievous scamps held up his slightest flaws for ridicule—no matter how unfair, illegal, or hurtful to his feelings. #TolstoysTalesofTrump
So disgusting to watch Twitter’s so-called “Trending”, where sooo many trends are about me, and never a good one. They look for anything they can find, make it as bad as possible, and blow it up, trying to make it trend. Really ridiculous, illegal, and, of course, very unfair!

The master tried to imagine Heaven, but he had many questions. Which of his wives would he be married to? Would he have to see his father? Would he have the same servants or would he have to break in new ones? #TolstoysTalesofTrump

This one was actually not one of Tolstoy’s tales—just Trump himself.

As he prayed for guidance he felt the presence of many great Americans. He recognized Ronald Reagan and the great Sidney Poitier. But who were the others?

My daughter Catherine’s reflections seem more pertinent every day.
“Evil does not always come swathed in swastikas...The reality is far more troubling: shunning knowledge, evading the weight of responsibility & guilt, covering for the “boss” or those in positions of power, are all ways that ordinary people negotiate w/ moral corruption every day

Solzhenitsyn: “The line separating good and evil passes not through states, nor between classes, nor between political parties either – but right through every human heart…”

Remembering that what really set @TedYoho off was when @AOC called him “rude.” Toxic masculinity cannot stand any challenge by women—hence POTUS’s frequent rejoinders to women reporters: nasty, untalented, low-IQ, etc.

Because of his wife, daughters, and mistresses, the master was always cognizant of his language. So if words like shrew, hag, harridan, or harpy sometimes escaped his lips it was only because of his passion for his God, his country, and his estate. #TolstoysTalesofTrump

The master denied that he had ever been opposed to washing his hands. His only problem, he said was when the call for hygiene made him look weak, “or came at the expense of business or pleasure.” #TolstoysTalesofTrump

A dangerous radical, wanted for criminal anarchy, vagrancy, and other crimes. (Art Young in The Masses, 1917.)

But for some “burning embers” of the plague (the “Bane of Ukraine”), the estate’s transition to Greatness was proceeding apace. The master said the mortality was very positive—mostly old people who would die anyway, and orphans who wouldn’t be missed. #TolstoysTalesofTrump

Apparently he also has a God, a country, and a family... Special!

History made with this speech. Thank you @AOC for standing up with such dignity for all women and schooling your male colleagues (and the wider culture) on the meaning of decency.
