Been thinking of this: 4 years ago it was clear there were 2 incompatible paths, the Way of Pope Francis and the Way of Trump (not saying Dem vs GOP). And large % of Catholics and bishops said/say “We go with Trump.” Still? What do we do with that? (“Give us Barabbas!”)
Wouldn’t it be such a great thing if a bishop spoke up each and every time Trump uttered an injustice, a lie, a racist remark, a raising up of a former nuncio who called for Francis’ resignation, or held up Taylor Marshall as part of his re-election campaign...think about it.

What a full and meaningful life so far--and so much more to come!

A nightmare scenario--all too plausible. And an agenda for action.

Looking forward to this new Trump trilogy: "FAITH: The Evidence of Things and Numbers Like Nobody Has Ever Seen Before" "HOPE: Something We’ll Be Looking into Very Strongly in Two Weeks" And the third (and greatest): "CHARITY: Very Powerful Tales from the Trump Family Trust"

"Corrupted creatures that we are, we often cannot, without an enormous amount of training and discipline, recognize genuine goodness when we see it." Wonderful reflection on Mr. Rogers. christiancentury.org/article… via @ChristianCent

Feast of St Ignatius, founder of the Jesuits. He began life as a vain courtier and soldier. The turning point came while he was recovering from a war injury and was given a book of lives of saints. As he read he thought: “What if I should do as St Francis or St Dominic did?”

We are shaped by what we pay attention to and admire. Our culture floods us with things unworthy of our attention or models who make us feel powerless. Why I write about saints, not just canonized, but who expand our moral imagination and make us think, what if I lived like that?

Sometimes when the master felt that someone else was getting too much attention he would accidentally start a fire or induce a bout of projectile vomiting. #TolstoysTalesofTrump

Grateful to Obama for making it clear that paying tribute to John Lewis is not enough--not while efforts are being made with surgical precision to undo the work Lewis was willing to die for. Message received.
