Ride on, ride on in majesty! In lowly pomp ride on to die: O Christ, your triumphs now begin o'er captive death and conquered sin.

The master kept changing his mind. “Instead of writing a story, let the actors make it up as they go along!” Thus audiences would return to see what happened next. And instead of actors he could play all the parts himself. “Nobody knows the Master like me.” #TolstoysTalesofTrump
As the master worked hard recounting amusing tales of life on the Estate, Prince Yuri was skeptical. “A play needs a plot and character development,” he said. “This sounds like a play about nothing.” #TolstoysTalesofTrump

Prince Yuri agreed to help write a play based on stories of the Estate. But whereas Yuri wanted to call it The West Wing, based on the master’s staff and family, his father-in-law insisted on Modern Master. “That’s what the audience wants to see,” he said. #TolstoysTalesofTrump

Whether the economy, climate change, war, global pandemic, nobody in America (at least on tv) is EVER held accountable for being 💯 wrong. If you’re a celebrity they let you do it.
We were not prepared for this pandemic. We lacked masks and ventilators. But when we emerge from this season we will face the ongoing challenge of building a just, sustainable, and peaceful world. Now we must stockpile the moral, social, and spiritual resources for that task.

...We may cry out desperately for time to pause in her passage, but time is adamant to every plea and rushes on. Over the bleached bones and jumbled residues of numerous civilizations are written the pathetic words, “Too late.”...

...If we do not act, we shall surely be dragged down the long, dark, and shameful corridors of time reserved for those who possess power without compassion, might without morality, and strength without sight. Now let us begin.

Now let us rededicate ourselves to the long and bitter, but beautiful, struggle for a new world. This is the calling of the sons of God, and our brothers wait eagerly for our response. Shall we say the odds are too great? Shall we tell them the struggle is too hard?

“I just don't want to wear one myself....I just don't want to somehow sitting in the Oval Office behind that beautiful Resolute desk, the great Resolute desk. I think wearing a face mask as I greet presidents, prime ministers, dictators, kings, queens, I don't see it for myself.”

“We have the choice of two identities: the external mask which seems to be real...and the hidden, inner person who seems to us to be nothing, but who can give himself eternally to the truth in whom he subsists.”—Thomas Merton
