April 7 1994 was the beginning of the Rwandan Genocide. In 100 days Hutu militia slaughtered up to a million of their Tutsi neighbors and moderate Hutus, mostly with machetes and primitive weapons. Many of the massacres occurred in churches, where victims had fled for safety.
April 7 is also the birthday of André Trocmé, pastor of the village of Le Chambon, which carried on a “conspiracy of goodness,” rescuing 2500 Jews under the noses of the Gestapo in occupied France. (25k Jews were deported from Paris alone in 1942.)
A test of evangelization, whether in an epoch of extermination, or just an ordinary season of injustice: Is the gospel we hear preached on Sunday one that inspires us to stick our necks out on behalf of “strangers” or to sit back and play it safe?
89th birthday of my father @DanielEllsberg. Once asked if he was a “person of faith” he said “I don’t know, but I’m a person of hope.” Meaning? Despite believing in likelihood that humans will destroy themselves he has staked his life on the slim chance of averting that fate.
“It will take a miracle” he says. “But miracles happen. As long as there is life there is hope.” He has shown that hope is an action, way of living as if the impossible—or highly improbable—were possible. Sometimes it begins by speaking the truth. Happy birthday, Dad. love you!
Theater critics scoffed at “Modern Master,” which was less a play than a man boasting of his own genius and denouncing his enemies. But audiences were rapt, with some calling it the best play ever! #TolstoysTalesofTrump
On the opening night of “Modern Master” the master walked alone onto the stage. After gazing at the puzzled audience, he embraced the flag, and then began musing aloud on the dangers of bears, Ukrainians, and the lack of good help. The audience cheered! #TolstoysTalesofTrump
All this was predicted and warned about -- repeatedly -- since the start of 2016 election. Those warnings were ignored and/or dismissed by our media & co. It was widely believed that Trump wouldn't get elected. And if he did, he'd "pivot" and/or surround himself w/ decent people.

The master kept changing his mind. “Instead of writing a story, let the actors make it up as they go along!” Thus audiences would return to see what happened next. And instead of actors he could play all the parts himself. “Nobody knows the Master like me.” #TolstoysTalesofTrump
Washington Post: In his book “Think Like a Billionaire,” Trump wrote that when he makes big decisions, “I try to step back and remember my first shallow reaction. The day I realized it can be smart to be shallow was, for me, a deep experience.”...
...”Trump’s frequent assurances that a big win is just over the horizon are designed primarily to make a splash. “I play to people’s fantasies,” he wrote in “The Art of the Deal.” “People may not always think big themselves, but they can still get very excited by those who do.”
