Students who thought they had had enrolled in a Master’s program at the Estate University complained that they never did more than polish the master’s boots or bring him cigars. He congratulated them on learning the first lesson: always read the fine print. #TolstoysTalesofTrump
The woman who called herself Peace Pilgrim died July 7 1981, after almost 3 decades wandering across America—“walking until I am given shelter and fasting until I am given food,” owning nothing but the clothes on her back, in her solitary witness for peace.
Her early life was conventional, but eventually she decided to give her life “to God and to service.” She spent 15 yrs preparing for an undefined mission, weaning herself from material possessions and adjusting herself spiritually for the demands of a “God-centered existence.”
One day she felt uplifted: “Every flower, every bush, every tree seemed to wear a halo…and flecks of gold fell like slanted rain through the air.” In this moment she discerned her mission: to go on constant pilgrimage for peace, rousing people from apathy and awakening hearts.
Starting in 1953, she walked from town to town, accepting hospitality where offered, otherwise fasting or sleeping outdoors. Her message addressed peace on all levels: between nations, groups, with the earth, among individuals, and inner peace. By 1964 she had walked 25K miles...
—then she stopped counting. “Who am I? It matters not that you know who I am; it is of little importance. This clay garment is one of a penniless pilgrim journeying in the name of peace. It is what you cannot see that is so very important.. . .
"I am one who is propelled by the power of faith; I bathe I the light of eternal wisdom; I am sustained by the unending energy of the universe; this is who I really am.”--Peace Pilgrim (?-7/7/1981)
Fearing that a future generation of hateful Nihilists and Social Democrats might try to despoil the Monument of Greatness (built with so much love), the master resolved to encircle it with an impenetrable Wall—thus enhancing the aura of Greatness. #TolstoysTalesofTrump
As he modeled a range of poses for the Monument to Greatness, the master’s thoughts turned to how to pay for this statue. Surely the house staff and even the peasants would proudly contribute to such a tribute to their heritage and history. #TolstoysTalesofTrump

As the master pondered the list of suitable subjects for his Monument of Greatness—a great outdoor park of statues commemorating the greatest masters who ever lived— his mind kept circling back to a single name. At once he decided to recast his project. #TolstoysTalesofTrump
George’s Bernanos, author of “The Diary of a Country Priest” d July 5 1948: “God did not create the Church to ensure the prosperity of the saints, but in order that she should transmit their memory. . . .
“They lived and suffered as we do. They were tempted as we are. The man who dares not yet accept what is sacred and divine in their example will at least learn from it the lesson of heroism and honor.”

The master planned to construct a giant outdoor park featuring statues of the greatest masters who had ever lived—a place where future peasants or young masters alike could find inspiration. “And God willing, one day my own statue will rest among them.” #TolstoysTalesofTrump
