It had been months since mines on the estate had closed with the promise of new health and safety measures that never seemed to occur. Nevertheless the master insisted he had waited long enough. “It is essential that all children get back to work,” he said. #TolstoysTalesofTrump

Though these two died ten years ago I could never get around to burying their ashes—until today. They were great spiritual teachers. All who knew and loved them experienced something of the universe loving them back.

Despite his frequent crimes and misdemeanors, the master was always loyal to his Fool. In part, this reflected the amusement he found in espying his own image tattooed on his Fool’s backside. But there was also the matter of their shared Secret. #TolstoysTalesofTrump

Feast of St Veronica. According to pious legend she was a woman who encountered Christ as he labored under the weight of the cross on his way to Golgotha. Moved by compassion she wiped his face with her veil, which later, miraculously, bore the imprint of his features. (McGrath)

Her story remains a true icon—an image of the divine mystery. We need not have lived 2000 yrs ago to replicate her act of devotion. Every person in need is an occasion to discover the meaning of Christ’s words: what we do for the least of these “you did it to me.”

At a time when manual labor was derided, they affirmed the spiritual value of work. During a time of cultural disintegration, they maintained islands of learning and civilization. In a time when violence was commonplace, they lived by the motto of Peace.

The Benedictine monasteries represented a vision of health, wholeness, and ecology in a world badly out of kilter. To the extent that that world remains our world, the vision of St. Benedict retains its relevance and attraction.

Stung by the charge that his memory was slipping the master recited the entire alphabet, identified pictures of animals and drew a clock. His manservant, witnessing the display, said, “That’s an unbelievable thing. Rarely does anyone do what you just did.” #TolstoysTalesofTrump

Because Radical Left Indoctrination often begins in the home, I am hereby reinstating the wonderful Junior G-Men program whereby young patriots will be trained to observe their parents, siblings and/or pets and report any Acts Against Public Policy.

The Healy brothers are a fascinating case--they were essentially forced to pass as white.

No seminary would accept him, but he studied in Rome and was ordained in 1886. He was assigned to a Black parish in Quincy IL, later in Chicago. Despite his effectiveness, he suffered from isolation and marginalization—the burden of being the only Black priest in America.

The origins of the Hunger Games—now a beloved tradition on the estate—were obscure. The master had defeated his siblings, as had his father before him. Now, with a new generation: who would have the wit, luck, and lack of empathy to become the next Master? #TolstoysTalesofTrump
