Finally recognized as a martyr, beatification has been approved for Jesuit Rutilio Grande, whose murder on 3/12/1977 along with an elderly peasant and a teenage boy, marked the opening of a terrible wave of persecution against the church in El Salvador. (Icon Robt Lentz)
