In Nov 1997, centenary of Dorothy Day’s birth, I wrote Cardinal O’Connor urging him to promote her cause for canonization. Today, 24 yrs later, I signed off on my work on the Historical Commission charged with preparing her cause for Rome. Finally a chance to use my special seal!
