Does it matter if these beliefs are not true? That top military believed Japan was ready to surrender with assurance that they could keep their Emperor? That Germany chose not to pursue the a-bomb (it would take too long) and Japan never pursued it?

Too bad you didn’t speak to the chaplain at Tinian, Fr George Zabelka, who also believed these things but who came to believe he was “brainwashed” and devoted his life to atoning for use of the bomb. sojo.net/magazine/august-198…
