Pope Francis: “It's not a question of giving more functions to women in the Church ... it's a question of integrating the woman as the image of the Church into our thinking… and also of thinking of the Church with the categories of a woman.” Oh dear...

As one who loves Pope Francis I long for the day he gives up talking about the “feminine genius,” or “the categories of a woman” and sees that “woman” will not be the image of the Church until women can exercise full leadership and authority in the church. vaticannews.va/en/pope/news/…

He is already under fire because he is not falling for the "It's the gay" line, and because of #AmorisLaetitia... he cannot change as fast as some of us would like; the attacks would be worse...

All I can say is....men. They don't get it. Even Pope Francis (whom I love for many other reasons). #MenDontGetIt

It's too late. Vatican 2 was the opportunity. The Church lost a generation of women and that lost generation is the one who would have brought the next generation to church regularly. Turning to Anglican Church now. I can see women standing at the alter.

I remain in support of Pope Francis but this is an attempt to suppress the voices of many capable women. There is a desperate need for women to ‘function’ in the church.

What do we expect from a celibate man who’s spent his life in an organization of celibate men?
