Rather than respond individually to all on Catholic Twitter who have accused me of heresy or blasphemy let me try to put this another way: What if, instead of marginalizing Mary Magdalene as a penitent prostitute (per Pope Gregory, 6th cen), the church had fully acknowledged the
Feast of St Mary Magdalene. What if the church had been founded on the rock of faith of a woman who did not abandon Jesus when he was being killed, who went to his tomb to anoint his tortured body, who was the first to see the risen Lord, and the first to proclaim this good news?

implications of her title (per Thomas Aquinas) as Apostle to the Apostles. A beginning in 2016 was the Vatican decree bit.ly/2M2jMdM that elevated Mary's feast to the same status as that of the other Apostles. Or perhaps per @kayaoakes: Patron st of the mainsplained.

I know, right? It would be way cooler to have a church founded on a woman. What was Jesus thinking??? We need a much more effeminate church with effeminate priests and female priestesses (especially lesbians). And we're getting there #Amazonsynod 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈

I tend to think that there is an underground (contemplative) Church going on that IS built on a feminine (Sophia, Mary Magdalene) energy. It is more hidden, (unconscious), but it is very real and alive in our world. Look at women like Sr. Norma or Sr. Helen Prejean.
