Wonderful, Robert. Does either of them contain full text of Spiral of Violence? If not, is that something Orbis could consider? It still reads so fresh. I scanned it out of frustration at its unavailability but await dread consequences. Meanwhile, this arrived from your stable.

Not that full text, but plenty more. Dom Helder was a mystic and prophet, a modern St Francis, who heard the cry of the poor and the cry of the earth.

I see a review here ncronline.org/blogs/road-pea…. And here’s a passage on his essence. I remember being amused to read in some conservative Catholic publication an insistence that he was not a priest of liberation theology. I thought, “that’s it, he’s a saint of liberation theology.”
