This post invited much comment and fraternal correction by zealous Defenders of the Faith—not one of whom reflected on the painting (save one who called the “so-called artist” a blasphemer) or the fact it was posted on the day of another synagogue attack. Just saying.

It's always moving to see Jesus and Mary, and others people in the Gospels, shown as they actually lived. I know a rabbi who always refers to Jesus as "the Nazarener rebbe." One of his many identities.
