Trappist Fr John Eudes Bamberger died today Feb 22 2020. Former novice and friend of Thomas Merton, later abbot of the Abbey of the Genesee, where he welcomed Henri Nouwen. RIP.

I'm very sad to hear this. A titan of apophatic theology. His early translations of Evagrius were ground breaking. His psychological insights into Evagrius's method have been enlightening.
