It appears many bishops are willing to enter an unofficial Concordat with Trump. In exchange for his patronage of parochial schools and a “pro-life” agenda (in the narrowest sense) they support his reelection and indulge his claim 2 b “the most pro-Catholic president in history.”

Yet what is the purpose of parochial schools if they must teach a message that has been hollowed out and adapted to the Gospel of Donald Trump? bit.ly/3cY5qVY @ctrlamb

Pathetic. Why don't they follow the Pope's example?

@realDonaldTrump is no Christian. The man is a living embodiment of the seven daily sins. He has not one thought of repentance. That any Bishop would align with him is repugnant

There has always been a fine line between politics and religion esp. when it comes to money. Jesus had to turn the tables over for good reason. Now we Catholics need to!

There are plenty of Catholics who are still defending the German bishops’ response to the rise of Nazism. Of course there are people who will defend the bishops no matter what they do. Most courses of action can be defended if you don’t demand things like courage and wisdom.
