It is possible (likely?) that Trump will be defeated in Nov. But even if there is a peaceful transfer of power, that will not be the end of Trumpism—a corrosive acid that has been injected into our cultural bloodstream. It will require years of reckoning and national detox.

This is by far the bigger problem. I now understand how “brother fought brother” in the CW - it never made sense to me how folks with same upbringing would not be on the same side in that. But my MAGAts are totally brainwashed and can see/hear no reason. Very distressing.
