Dear Dad- I’m happy your charges were dropped on this date. For many reasons – including that it allowed you and mom to have me on May 12, four years later!
On May 11 1973 charges against my father, Daniel Ellsberg, and co-defendant Tony Russo were dismissed for their copying of the Pentagon Papers, a Top Secret history of the Vietnam War. The judge cited massive government misconduct. My father had faced 115 years in prison.
