Finally read back through the stream of points and counterpoints about “Weird Christianity” and want to express my appreciation for @jamielmanson’s take. The vile personal response it evoked was predictable but no less reprehensible. Also good from @DanielJCamacho
I'm not suggesting that we shouldn't seek respite in beauty and architecture. But when you're in a cathedral, don't just look up at the ceiling and stained glass. Look down at the well-worn stone floor and the grooves made by the feet of countless pilgrims.ncronline.org/news/opinion/g…

I don't recognise any Christianity at all in some of the bigotry discussed in that and linked articles. The far right of the Catholic flock is no different to far right Evangelicals, atheists, Hindus or anyone else. Bigotry of any kind is just evil. Very pure,very dangerous evil
NYTimes’ “Weird Christianity” take is little more than fashion posed as faith. Looks more to me like “Vogue Christianity”.
