Congrats to @theCTSA on yr 75th anniv. Tonight we had planned a reception to celebrate our @OrbisBooks 50th anniv. At my first convention in 1988 Orbis was at best a marginal presence, with a small table, and few CTSA members among our authors. What a difference 32 years make!

One could trace the evolution of CTSA in terms of influence of themes that Orbis helped bring to the table: global perspectives (African, Asian, Latin American), contextual theologies and other voices from the margins, particularly African American, Latinx, women’s voices....

...ecology; interreligious dialogue; inculturation; mission….So many of these themes have now entered into the bloodstream of the Society. Plus authors beyond the Society who have helped shape Catholic theology in the US:
