Today, Sept 9, is the 40th anniversary of John Howard Griffin’s death in 1980. (My reflections below for his centenary in June.) It is significant that his life of radical empathy and solidarity should be remembered in this time of #BLM awakening.

I was re-reading "Black Like Me" yesterday coincidentally. While there are many correct criticisms of the book, it's still a gripping narrative that is amazingly written!
