The issue is not whether religion belongs in the public square—but there are different kinds of religion: the kind that is expressed in justice and mercy, and the kind that provides a sacred canopy for “law and order.”

I’ve been trying to give Baron the benefit of the doubt these last few years, but that’s it - I unequivocally have no respect for the pretentious obsequious phony

Even for this ex-Catholic atheist, a Catholic organization (no matter how fervently right-wing) awarding Barr for "Exemplary Selfless and Steadfast Service in the Lord’s Vineyard" is gut churning. If Christ were in that vineyard, he'd be trampling out Barr's grapes with wrath.

There are many conflicting messages intertwined in your General Election, and Christianity is at the heart of it. Motives, justification and the prevailing spirit behind everything.

Recently, my most frequent encounter with Bishop Barron has been his ads selling books and hawking evangelization that pop up on websites I visit.

This brings on a crisis of faith. It makes me truly question remaining in the Catholic Church.
