Today I gave an interview about Henri Nouwen, who died suddenly in '96 just shy of 65. After his funeral I received a letter from him: thanks for our friendship and looking to the future. I realized today I have reached his same age. Yet he seemed so old! Time changes perspective

Robert, thank you for your contribution to the Dorothy Day Doc available through PBS. Your insights were, as always, spot on. Showing it to my students and they appreciate your insights.

I love Henry Nouwen and his books -so very real and heartfelt . Unfortunately , I went to YDS after him ; he certainly found a lot more peace and serenity being at L’Arche vs academia . I get it right ?

Not exactly peace and serenity, but he certainly found the home he had been searching for.
