This must be the first time a Medal of Freedom has been awarded by a president to someone for "taking on" the very government institutions that he runs; ie the FBI and Intelligence Community
WH statement on Nunes getting Medal of Freedom today is a doozy: "Nunes pursued the Russia Hoax at great personal risk & never stopped standing up for the truth. He had the fortitude to take on the media, the FBI, the Intelligence Community, the Democrat Party, foreign spies..."

At great risk to his personal dignity, Devin Nunes tried to sue his own cow for defamation. In doing so, he stood up for the principle that politicians should not have to endure ridicule from their pets or barnyard animals.
