St Brigid was born into slavery, yet became the abbess of a double monastery and a renowned spiritual teacher. Her only desire was “to satisfy the poor, to expel every hardship, to spare every miserable man.” Her miracles reflect her propensity to nourish and give succor.
Feast of St Brigid of Ireland : “She supplied beer out of one barrel to 18 churches, which sufficed from Maundy Thursday to the end of paschal time.” Another time she turned water to milk which, having drunk from it, did cure a leprous woman. And many other wonders.
