Today is the feast of St Paul Miki and his companions, 26 Japanese Catholics martyred in Nagasaki in 1597–among many thousands who would die under persecution. 350 yrs later 10,000 Japanese Catholics would die when the bomb was dropped on Nagasaki.

And Pedro Arrupe was there...the Jesuits house was not touched and they helped victims...appropriate we just celebrated his day.
