MLK embraced the love of the Cross. The day after he was killed, I age 11 asked my Dad, age 39 like Dr. King, "why was he shot dead?" "Son, some people hate others w/ a different skin color, never be that way, always love all." My father died that Dec. 1968, my first teacher.
