In the summer of 1980, soon after Oscar Romero was gunned down, Jean Donovan took a break from her ministry in El Salvador to advance her Spanish in Guatemala. Jean and I, in the same language school, would go to Mass together. Friend, martyr - a light in the darkness. Miss her.
