That could still be a lot of accounts where the IRS will get new data. Depends whether and how there are exemptions for wage deposits or somesuch. Important reminder: The proposal is for annual total inflow and outflow, not transaction by transaction reporting to IRS.

The tax menu has been clear for a while now. They just need to figure out how hungry they are and which items they want to order.
So what did they agree to? Aide says there’s an agreement on a “menu of financing options” between House and Senate Dem leaders, chairs of House Ways and Means and Senate Finance panels. WH officials are meeting with House and Senate moderates today to talk about it

Dems: The tires on this car are completely bald. GOP: We’ve gone too many miles, too fast, for too long. We’re not going to help replace the tires just so you can plan another road trip. Dems: But we already have places we’ve agreed to be. Getting a flat could wreck the car.

And it's not a spending bill or a tax bill or a health bill or a climate bill or a poverty bill or an education bill. It's all of the above, jammed together because of reconciliation and filibusters. We're all desperate for shorthand descriptions and this thing defies it.

It's a $3.5 trillion spending bill, except that's a gross not net number, and a bunch of the $3.5 trillion is tax cuts, and a bunch of those tax cuts are actually spending programs, and they haven't even settled on $3.5 trillion yet.
