As someone who worked at FB for 8 years, I believe that drastic action is needed to stop FB from accelerating the coming global unrest. Drastic like shutting down link sharing in News Feed and Messenger.

I'm wondering your thoughts on -- What if that's not enough, given the disinformation that can spread through images (screenshots of other people's posts, or of "censored" headlines/articles) and text? And is there value in keeping links in comments to debunk things?

(I also had an instance recently where a family member sent my partner a pasted FB message full of disinformation, no link, and he replied and showed the person it was incorrect by responding in Messenger with a Snopes link)

He's saying the only option is to literally disable sharing of any non-original content in any capacity whatsoever, and only places that have shown they can handle it responsibly should be allowed to apply for an exception.
