The US and arms-supplying states cannot wash their hands of responsibility for the atrocities and suffering their arms are wreaking on the civilian population in Yemen. Transfers of arms and military assistance to parties involved in the conflict must stop.

📢The Chinese government is using the Beijing Olympics to improve its global image and hide its human rights abuses. This amounts to sportswashing. Join us in demanding China to respect human rights and #FreeTheFive this Olympics! amnesty.org/en/petition/cham…

The hacking of a staff member at an international human rights organization adds to the list of recent abuses including targeting of journalists in El Salvador, and human rights defenders in Bahrain and Jordan. It is time to call a halt to the out-of-control spyware industry✊
Replying to @AmnestyTech
The HRW staff member was notified about the targeting by Apple in November 2021. The @hrw Tech Team confirmed the attack using the forensic tools and methodology published by @AmnestyTech. We have reviewed these findings and confirm that two phones were compromised with Pegasus.

For my virtual attendance of the Australian Open, I am wearing a #WhereisPengShuai T-shirt. The ban was an outrage. Enough with these sport associations making millions and sportwashing China engaged in censorship and crimes against humanity bbc.co.uk/news/world-austral…

Read this @AmnestyIreland report on sex work in #Ireland. Our laws are harming sex workers.
NEW RESEARCH: Decriminalising sex work makes sex workers safer. As a first step, Ireland must repeal the laws that prevent them from working together – there's safety in numbers. #decrimforsafety #rightsforsexworkers @RedUmbrellaFrnt @SWAIIreland

A 2017 law that was purportedly designed to protect human trafficking victims and sex workers from exploitation is instead facilitating the targeting and abuse of sex workers, and the state is failing to protect them from violence 👇 amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2…

The escalation in #Yemen is another painful reminder of how Yemenis have been failed again & again.. from failing to support their basic/rightful humanitarian needs & ensuring the safety of civilians to derailing accountability efforts. @Amnesty on the past few days 👇🏼
1/5 #Yemen: The Saudi-led coalition has been relentlessly pounding northern parts of #Yemen with #airstrikes, including the capital city #Sanaa, causing hundreds of civilian casualties, and destroying infrastructure and services.

.@amnesty and many others warned about the arbitrary detention of children in northeast #Syria camps and transfer to adult prisons, where they don't belong. Now, 850 children in detention are threatened by violence. This tragedy could have been avoided if our calls were heeded.
The Autonomous Administration, which controls #AlHol camp in #Syria, have been arbitrarily detaining 12 year old boys, separating 2 year old children from their caregivers, & curtailing access to healthcare. Read more: amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2…

Just three weeks into 2022, three journalists have already been murdered in Mexico this year, including two in Tijuana in the last seven days. Instead of taking any meaningful action, AMLO has complained that the killings are being used to damage his government's image.
