I'm looking for research w/ detailed design & architecture comparison of package managers - they all do more-or-less the same job, but there are many (many) design choices and tradeoffs. Pointers welcome - thanks in advance.

If you're reasonably expert in GPG Agent, Debian GNU/Linux, other agent processes that might be interfering with my gpg-agent :-), and with passphrase caching in general, DM or email me. I'll pay your top consulting rate. I ain't got time to debug this all by my lonesome.

As we've seen during COVID, many people are deeply uncomfortable with provisional truth. They get angry when advice is revised based on new evidence and lose confidence in research as a whole rather than seeing it as evidence of honesty. I don't know what to say to them :-(

Julia asks great questions. It was great to sit down with her and have a just have an open conversation with her about what happened to us, why it might have happened, and what it means for our work and other researchers and journalists. Please have a read!

Replying to @THECITYNY
2/ Here’s why this is a big deal: With $2.1 billion of state money, New York’s Excluded Workers Fund is the largest program of its kind in the country dedicated to supporting workers who couldn’t qualify for government assistance during the pandemic. buff.ly/2WU9wMc

I have been doing a practice for the last year or so where whenever I go "why is x this way" I look for Capitalism, Racism, or the Patriarchy. I propose it be an acronym, like Overeaters' Anonymous's HALT: when you find yourself sad!mad about x, look for the CRaP.

If any trans person reading this is in the US and needs a letter from a therapist to get some kind of gender-affirming care, I was given a list of therapists who have agreed to write such a letter after a single session. Please feel free to DM me for it.

Anyone out there use an e-reader for reading papers in PDF? If so, what kind and do you like/recommend? Have been thinking it would be nice to have an eye-friendly and sunlight-friendly option other than printing. Color e-ink now exists--have you tried it? (please RT)
