MyST is getting more promising every day! I guess we will have to stick to reST for docstrings though? (Specially if we use napoleon and the NumPy docstring standard numpy.org/doc/stable/docs/ho…)

I believe so - if I recall, `autodoc` does a bunch of rST-specific things in its code. Though I believe that github.com/executablebooks/M… would let you just put rST directly in a myst doc (for something like calling autodoc)
