looking forward to @andy_schleck visiting the US, Dennis Rodman-style, to negotiate the release of Luxembourger hostages taken in retaliation. #planket
Just in: Pompeo is canceling his trip to Europe this week to focus on the transition to the incoming Biden administration, per @StateDept

Lemond website now says Feb 2021 for the Prolog and March 2021 for the Dutch.
So apparently the Lemond ebikes are shipping next month, but also no photographs of their physical manifestations exist?

I want these bikes to be real so, so badly. But—well, maybe you've heard about this one video game called "Cyberpunk 2077"…

I wonder if this syncs with @ReggieMillerTNT's notions of "inclusive"

don't get me wrong: I think milking rich Masters—esp those racing variously through their kids—is a good model. But let's see the money buying and distributing fleets of late-model overstock for the kids whose parents can't afford it. *That's* more kids in the pipeline.

anyway, I feel like the model here was high-end private colleges, where large minority of exceptionally wealthy scions pay exorbitant full boat tuition so that ostensibly deserving plebeians (like me!) can come along for the ride.

the thing is, demand for those colleges is extremely high, and the institutions are extremely selective. Because the pool of applicants is huge, you can create hugely talented, super-resourced pools of students for a mostly-manageable end user price.

but until USAC starts to see those broad-based application numbers, I just don't think the process is going to work. The model here might be Harvard, but when 80% of the student body is Jared Kushner, I just don't think you're going to see a positive result.

Is that a @paynobikefees up against the wall there?
The comfy super-plush front-row chairs in the famous White House movie theater (built by FDR) are missing. Room being used for some sort of storage

Who wants to do a Kickstarter ($4500) to order one of these to see when it arrives? I'll put a How The Race Was Won sticker on it and auction it off for charity afterward. lemond.com/prolog

Bike industry people, does this set off red flags for you? I do work in a world where production renders routinely precede actual products without incident, but…bikes seem harder.

Would have expected it to be a bit more orange…
Aupa Pale Ale from @basquelandbrew. A conundrum. Have to admit, I bought it because of the ace can design. Smell was magnificent. First mouthful was borderline hideous. But two sips in, it grew on me big time. By the end, I regretted not having a second can. Yummy. Verdict: 4/5.

Has @Pflax1 noted that this is completely fucked up yet?
“She texts while she drives, talks while she eats, parents while she reports, tweets and regrets it, doomscrolls.” @benyt on the brilliance and relentlessness of ⁦@maggieNYTnytimes.com/2020/11/08/busin…

but then again, he ostensibly makes a living off that bullshit so maybe I should just learn to lean in and embrace it. Could be good career move, right Phil?
