Had these Sennheiser HD58X's for about 2 years, love them! Just replaced the ear pads through @drop I chose the fenestrated sheepskin and they feel brand new! Highly recommend.

How different are they compared to the stock pads? Does it change the sound in any way?

The stock pads are velour pads, they feature soft, tight-knit velour covers that are stitched at the seams for security and a good seal. The fenestrated sheepskin pads are similar to sheepskin pads, with perforations for a more breathable design.
